Bill R. Mattox, 65, of Independence, MO, passed away, Friday, October 24, 2003 at St. Luke�s Hospital. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Carrollton, MO. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday evening at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Noland Road Baptist Church. Bill was born March 15, 1938 in Bogard, MO the son of John T. and Nellie M. (Craven) Mattox. He graduated from Tina-Avalon High School and later spent 2 years in the Army. He then went into the banking and was employed for First National Bank of Kansas City later Boatman�s Bank spending several years in the investment dept. retiring in 1994 after 32 years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Kansas City, MO and the Noland Road Baptist Church. He was married Joan Standley on November 3, 1957, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 sisters, Wauneta Plum (Robert) of Scottsdale, AZ, Geneva Gurera (Paul) of Independence, MO and Betty Daniel of Las Vegas, NV; 1 aunt, Ira Ruth Craven of Carrolton, MO and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert Mattox in 1970 and Clarence Mattox in 1999.
