Maxine May Norton, a beloved member of our community, gracefully departed this world on October 2, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on April 21, 1934, in the town of Humansville, Missouri to Ora and Margie (Gump) Box.
For many years, she dedicated herself to her career as a sales associate, where her warm personality and commitment to service touched the lives of countless customers and colleagues. Shopping brought her joy as well, she enjoyed finding treasures and gifts for both herself and her loved ones.
Outside of her professional life, Maxine had a wide array of interests She found joy in visiting casinos, where she like to play slot machines and video poker. Bird watching was another cherished pastime, providing her with peace. Maxine also had a passion for dancing, which filled her life with rhythm and laughter, as well as a great love for traveling with her late husband, Bill. Together, they created countless memories exploring new places, sharing adventure, and enriching their lives.
Maxine's deep faith guided her throughout her life, offering her solace and strength in times of need. She was a woman of conviction, always seeking to uplift those around her and make a positive impact on their lives. Her legacy of love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Michelle Nigro, and grandson, Adam Moyer.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband William “Bill” Norton of 8yrs and late husband, Otto Nigro of 27yrs; and siblings, Betty Keller, Helen Land, Dolly Parker, Ora C. Box Jr. “Tip” and Monty Box.
As we gather to honor Maxine's life, we invite friends and family to join us for a time of remembrance and celebration. Visitation will be held on October 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Speaks Suburban Chapel located at 18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO. A memorial service will follow at 10:00 AM.
