Vaunda Rae May (Snider)

Vaunda Rae May, 80 of Blue Springs, Mo passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022, at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2022 at The life Church, 10400 View High Dr. #2282, Kansas City, MO 64134 with burial to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the church. Vaunda was born July 1, 1941, in Oran, MO to Donald and Virgia (Edmister) Snider and has been a longtime area resident. She studied real estate and became a licensed real estate agent working for Century 21 for a number of years. Vaunda and her husband enjoyed ministering to people and had taught Bible studies for a number of years. She was married to William “Calvin” May on August 21, 1965, he preceded her in death on October 2, 2020. Survivors include a brother Jim and his wife Sherry of AR.; a nephew, Jonathan Snider of Austin, TX; a sister-in-law, Diana Snider and her children, Rhodana Snider and Danelle Snider of the Kansas City area; advisors during a difficult time (Calvin’s passing) Ellie and Brian Tonack; close friends Lee and Carol Gohdes of Kansas City; caring neighbors Brent and Janie Kahler of Blue Springs, MO; and a host of loving church family. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Snider and her parents.
