Harvel "Dillard" Mayhan

Harvel Dillard Mayhan, 86, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Independence Health Care Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14th at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Dillard was born July 25, 1919 in Newark, AR to Harry Francis and Frances Ann (Gardner) Mayhan. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Mayhan retired in 1976 from Armco Steel after 30 years of employment. Dillard enjoyed his retirement spending time making crafts, gardening and working in the yard. Dillard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annie Grace (Gamble); sons Harvel Edward Mayhan and Gregory Lynn Mayhan; special family friend Rick Danner; and many loving friends. Dillard was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother.
