JoAnna S. (Crigler) Mayo
JoAnna S. Mayo, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022. She was 90 years of age.
JoAnna was born on July 13, 1932, in Mercer, Missouri, the daughter of Joe and Marjorie (Holmes) Crigler, she was one of three children. After Graduating from Mercer High School she moved to Kansas City to persue a degree in business. In 1957 JoAnna married Marvin Mayo and from their union came one daughter, Shawn. JoAnna worked for Social Security for many years and after retiring she continued to work in various positions, one of her favorites was to work concessions at the Royals and Chiefs games where she was known as Grandma by all. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a member of Disciples of Christ. JoAnna loved snacking and had quite the sweet tooth. Most of all JoAnna adored her family, to her they were everything. She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed.
JoAnna is survived by her grandchildren, Christopher (Dana) Collins, Courtney (William) Thompson, Katelyn Collobert, Samantha Collobert, Amber Stancil; 5 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Mayo; daughter, Shawn Collobert, and sisters, Shirley Fagan, Jean Gray.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Family will greet guest between the hours of 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022. Both to take place at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. JoAnna will be laid to rest in Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO., those planning to attend the graveside committal may meet at the cemetery at 12pm, Thursday, September 1, 2022. In lieu of flowers family suggest contributions to be made the Northcare Hospice House.
