Daniel William "Dan" Mccarty Jr.

Dan McCarty, Jr. 69, of Independence, MO went home to meet his Heavenly Father on July 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. A Memorial service will be held at 7 pm, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Parkview Community of Christ Church 801 S.W. 19th St. Blue Springs, MO 64105. Dan was born on February 3, 1949 in Independence, MO to Daniel Sr. and Phyllis (DeLong) McCarty. After graduating from Fort Osage High School Dan joined the Navy and served during Viet Nam. After his return to the Independence area, Dan started his business, D & H Electric, which he operated with the help of his wife for over 31 years. He along with his wife were long time members of the Parkview Community of Christ, serving as Elder. One of the greatest joys for Dan was sharing the gospel with others. Dan enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially going to the mountains and fly fishing. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include; his loving wife and partner Debra (Brock) McCarty; daughter Dana Dahl; daughter Danielle Winship and her husband David; mother, Phyllis McCarty; sisters Julie Davis and Patricia Brock; grandchildren Austin Alyssa, Codin and Garrett; extended family and many friends. Daniel is preceded in death by his father, Daniel McCarty Sr.
