Clifford L. “Mac” McClure, 74, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. September 16, 2012 at Cornerstone Community of Christ 1316 S. Osage, Independence, MO.
Mac was born November 10, 1937 in Virginia, IL, to William and Beulah (Lowrey) McClure. He graduated from Virginia High in 1955. Mac married Judy (Dodge) in 1962 and raised two sons together. He was a man who took care of others before himself. Mac was a regular counselor and archery teacher for Camp Opportunity for abused children.
Mac is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy (Dodge) McClure; son, Luke McClure, both of Independence, MO; son, James and wife Heather McClure of Prairie Village, KS; grandchildren Ian and Jewell McClure, as well as, Ethan and Rachel Schreier and McKenzie Vonderahe. Mac was preceded in death by his siblings and parents. The family encourages donations in Mac’s name to Camp Opportunity Inc. PO Box 13 Independence, MO 64051.
