Steven Michael McCoil passed away on December 7th, 2020, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was 28 years old.
Steven was born on February 3, 1992 in Farmington, New Mexico. He graduated from Blue Springs High School in the class of 2010. He was a huge fan of the KC Chiefs and the KC Mavericks, and instilled that sense of hometown sports pride in his two sons, five-year-old Kaiden and one-year-old Carson. Time spent visiting his grandparents in the mountains of Colorado gave him such joy, and it inspired him to move there one day. He was employed as a driver with his dad’s company and he particularly loved the part of the job where he got to meet people.
Steven always thought of others first and happily shared what he could. Family came first, and everything else came second. He loved to have fun and bring a smile to people’s faces. He was a great dad, fiancé, son, grandson, brother, and friend.
Steven is survived by his two sons Kaiden and Carson McCoil; fiancée Sydney Diehl; father Mike McCoil (wife Stephanie); sister Olivia McCoil; step-brother Drake Evans; paternal grandparents Mary Beth and Charles Grundmann; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Bob Pfeiffer.
Due to county restrictions, a private memorial service in Steven’s honor will take place at a later date.
