LaDonna Jo McCorkendale, 62 of Camdenton, Mo, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday, May 1, 2021 at her home. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Thursday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation in her name c/o Cammie Miller for a nature beautification project to be established. LaDonna was born January 29, 1959 in Independence, Mo to Donald E. Thompson and W. JoAnn (Myers) Thompson-Pasley and was a long time Independence resident. She had worked for over 31 years for the City of Independence as a permit technician for the Zoning and Permit Department. She was a nature lover and enjoyed spending time at the lake and walking on the beach. She was also an animal lover of cats and dogs, spending time with her family and friends and attending her grandchildren’s events and was known to have a contagious laugh. She is survived by; 2 children, Cammie Miller and husband Jason of Lees Summit, MO and Lance Bowles and wife Kellie of Grain Valley, MO; a sister, Penny Hoffmann and husband Mike of Independence, MO; her companion and former husband Kerry Brunner and 6 grandchildren, Trenton, Trevor, Tanner, Caleb, Alexis and Ryker. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Denny McCorkendale in 2010.
