Donald Ray Mccormick

Donald Ray McCormick passed away Monday, July 18, 2016, on his 79th Birthday at Village House Hospice. Don was born July 18, 1937, in Prenter, WV to James VanBuren and Audrey (Jordan) McCormick. He grew up in Hernshaw, WV and graduated from East Bank High School. He has been a longtime Buckner resident and worked at the GM Fairfax Plant in Kansas City, MO for over 28 years until he retired in 1992. He was a member of the UAW local #31 and the Masonic Lodge #501 in Buckner. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Jean in 1998 and his older brother John. He is survived by two sons, Mike McCormick and wife Jennifer of Leawood, KS and Randy McCormick and wife Kelley of Lee’s Summit, MO and 5 grandchildren, Chris, Tyler, Nathan, Keegan and Maggie. Visitation will be from 9:30am – 10:30am Saturday, July 23rd at the First Baptist Church of Buckner with Service at 10:45am. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
