John K. McCormick, 61, Lawrence, KS passed away Nov. 17, 2017. Services will be private. Memorial visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Carson-Speaks

John was born March 23, 1956 in Independence and graduated from William Chrisman High School. He was a graduate of Electronics Institute. He retired from NCR after a thirty-one year career and then worked for Federal Protection Company. He enjoyed cooking, grilling and landscaping in his spare time. In his youth he played piano and was a drummer in the William Chrisman High School band. He grew up in the Community of Christ Stone Church.
John was preceded in death by his parents Keith and Eullaine McCormick. He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years Judy McCormick, of the home; sister Jackie Leaders and husband Glen, Woodbine, IA; brother Dan McCormick and wife April, Independence, MO; nieces, nephews and many other family members.
