Jurel E. Mccracken Sr.

Jurel McCracken Sr., 89, of Independence, MO passed away November 26, 2019. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. service on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Jurel was born February 12, 1930 in Gassville, AR to Ralph and Ora McCracken. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Joan (Poynter) McCracken; great grandson, Jonathan Short; and three brothers, Wilburn, Milburn and James. Jurel is survived by his three children, Carolyn Malcolm (Eddie), Jurel McCracken Jr. (Joni), Bryan McCracken (Angie); grandchildren, Shawndra Short, Joshua McCracken, Katie Jo Thompson (Matt), Jessica McCracken and Jacob McCracken (Tiffany); great grandchildren, Gracelyn Staggs, Waylon McCracken, Matthew Thompson, Haylie Jo Thompson and Kamryn McCracken; sister, Shirley Garner; brother-in-law, Buddy Poynter; sister-in-law, Phyllis Poynter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
