Elizabeth McCurley, 75, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at her home. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO, 64052. A service will be at 10am on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the chapel.
Elizabeth was born on October 27, 1943 in Joplin, MO to Andrew and Beatrice (Harris) Renfro. She graduated from Fort Osage High School. In her spare time she painted pictures, played games on her tablet, and visited the casinos with her late husband. She enjoyed watching home improvement shows, cooking shows, and anything with Johnny Depp. In 2017 she got to take an Alaskan Cruise with her daughter, which was a first for her. Most of all, Elizabeth loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She will be remembered by her son Jerry N. McCurley of Carrolton, MO; daughter Regina Millan of Independence, MO; son Jerry McCurley, Jr. and wife Deedee of Independence, MO; granddaughters Sarah Lewis, Tiffany Hines, Brittany McCurley, and Lori McCurley; great-grandkids Deakin Robinson, Drevon Lewis, Brooklyn Lewis, and Sheyenne Lewis; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; plus several other extended family members.
She was preceded by her husband Jerry McCurley, Sr. in 2008.
