KENNETH DALE MCDANIEL
Kenneth Dale McDaniel, 88, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2020.
Kenneth was born in Marshall, MO on December 16, 1931, the youngest of 10 children to George McDaniel and Clara Gene Bush McDaniel. He graduated from Marshall High School in the class of 1950 and shortly thereafter married Betty Shrock. To this union was born four children. For the first several years, Kenneth worked as an electrician for the Power & Light Company of Marshall, but the family relocated to the Independence area where he started his own business, McDaniel Electric. He did electrical and contractor work for residences and businesses alike and specialized in wiring swimming pools. He retired from his business in 2011 at the age of 80.
Betty passed away in 1999, and Kenneth remarried to Betty Hickman Graham in 2001. Their families meshed together effortlessly. They shared nearly 20 happy years of Caribbean cruise vacations, trips to the casino, or just simply enjoying a Chiefs game in the comfort of their own home. He remained a country boy at heart, and would often load up his hunting gear and his bird dog to go to the woods, searching for quail or pheasant.
In his earlier years, he was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Independence; he transferred his membership to First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, where he and Betty enjoyed the faith and fellowship of their community. He never took himself too seriously, and never got angry. His family will always remember the way he would take every opportunity to sing them a rock & roll song or to show off his dance moves.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Betty; two daughters Patricia Nelson (husband Gary) and Susan Stowers; step-children Virginia Sigloch (significant other Elton Rust), Stanley Graham, Nancy Hamilton (husband John), and Danny Graham (wife Sherry); 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; a brother Marion Francis McDaniel of Texas; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty McDaniel; two daughters Vicky and Judy McDaniel; his parents George and Clara McDaniel; and 8 brothers and sisters.
