Joyce J. Mcdowell

Joyce J. (Karlin) McDowell, 46, of Independence, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 14th at her home. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 20th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Burial in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Independence Animal Shelter. Joyce was born February 20, 1959 in Kansas City, MO to Ralph M. and JoAnn J. (Miller) Karlin. She loved animals and spending time outdoors. Ms. McDowell enjoyed working on crafts in her spare time and on word puzzles. Joyce is survived by her life partner Glenn H. Evans, sons Nicholes D. Martin, Joseph D. McDowell, Jacob M. McDowell; siblings Tina, Michael and Felicia; and a host of special friends. She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Karlin in 1999.
