Joseph Edward Mckee

Joseph “Joe” Edward McKee, 81, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on October 29, 2014. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service, at 9:00 am, at the chapel. Joe was born on September 11, 1933 in Fairbury, NE to Robert and Christena (Schrader) McKee. At the age of 6, Joe moved to Herington, KS with his family. After high school Joe became a proud Marine, serving in the Korean War. After returning from the war, Joe went to work for the Beach Aircraft Company. It was then that he met his neighbor, and love of his life, Candace Nelsen. They were married in 1960 in Wichita, KS. Together they moved to Lee’s Summit in 1961, where Joe went to work for Western Electric, retiring after 30 years in 1991. Survivors include; his loving wife of 54 years, Candace McKee; son John (Brenda) McKee; daughter Janette (Brett) Miller; brother Robert McKee; and grandchildren Riley, Jenny, Courtney, Hanna, and Caden.
