Robert Wayne Mckenzie, known by those who love him as Bob “Mac” and Rob died Monday, November 8th at 3:25 pm at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa surrounded by family and caregivers that love him.
Born December 26, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a regular attendee of Unity Village. He grew up in Los Angeles, California with his mother Helen Mckenzie, brothers Mike and Rick. At the age of 12, he joined his late father and step-mother John and Connie Mckenzie in Kansas City.
Bob graduated from Van Horn high school in 1971. He then married his first wife, Julie Gulledge and had two children Lisa and Danny Mckenzie.
Bob was known for his outstanding mechanic skills and owned Motorwerks International for many years. He serviced foreign cars and his clients were like family. Bob was also a Neuromuscular therapist with training in Eastern and Western therapies. He was licensed in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Bob met his life partner Margaret Jones in June of 2009 They owned Zenshya together in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Bob is remembered for the impact he had on those around him, his spiritual nature and his constant quest for knowledge. His Celebration of Life Service will be held November 23rd, 5:30-8 at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Mo. All are welcome.
He is survived by: life partner Margaret Jones, children: Lisa and Danny, brothers and sisters: Mike, Rick, Jim, Tim, Sheila and Charlene; his grandchildren: Alyssa, Becca, Morgan, Danny, Denny, Donny Latesha, Jonathan, Wisdom, Rebecca, Adonis, and Taylor. Spouses of children: Dorothy and Dylon, former wife: Julie.
