Marian P. "Mernie" Mckissack

Marian P. "Mernie� McKissack, 85, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Medical Center of Independence. A memorial service will be 7 pm Tuesday, May 25th at First Baptist Church of Independence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church. Mernie was born November 12, 1918 in Tulsa, OK to George W. and Virginia Dixon Warren. She handled advertising for National Equipment Co., Helzberg Diamonds, and J.C. Penney Co. Mernie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward A. McKissack, son, Edward A. McKissack, Jr. and her 7 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her foster son, Joe Lee Braughton and wife Donna of Kingsville, MO; foster grandchildren, Donne Braughton, and Misty Cissell; and many nieces and nephews.
