Janet Sue Mclaughlin

Janet Sue McLaughlin, 62, of Independence, MO, passed away, Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Research Medical Center. Services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Speaks Buckner Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:30-3:00 pm at the chapel. Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Janet was born February 13, 1942 in St. Catherine, MO to Ira D. and Mildred E. (Forbes) Hackett. She had worked at the Cozy Corner restaurant in Buckner, MO in the past and had retired from the Records department with Jackson County. Mrs. McLaughlin devoted her life to her kids and their families. She enjoyed reading in her spare time and spending time outdoors at Truman Lake. Janet is survived by her mother Mildred Hackett of Brookfield, MO; daughter Kimberly Cline and her significant other Ted Humphrey of Independence, MO; sons and daughters-in-laws James and Rhonda McLaughlin of Independence, MO and Richard and Esther McLaughlin of Blue Springs, MO; brother and sister-in-law Donald and Suzan Hackett of McLeed, MO; sister and brother-in-law Mickey Ann and Joe Knowles of Brookfield, MO; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Ira Hackett in 1994; daughter Melody Knowles in 1999; and brother Francis Hackett in 2004.
