Reatha T. McLaughlin, 90, Independence, MO, died Monday, July 2, 2007, at Monterey Park nursing home. Services will be at 11:00 am Friday, July 6, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service on Friday from 10-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Crossroads Hospice of Kansas City. Mrs. McLaughlin was born July 11, 1916, in Murray, KY, to E. Houston and Cora (Shelton) Houston. She had lived in the Independence area for many years and worked at Woolworth’s for over thirty years. She loved dancing and listening to Country music. Mrs. McLaughlin is survived by her two sons, Alvin “Gene” Williams, and Jack E. Duff and his wife Karen, all of Blue Springs, MO; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
