Derrell T. Mclees

Derrell T. McLees 87 of Independence, MO passed away Friday, December 30, 2022. A private family graveside will be held at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Derrell was born June 26, 1935 in Independence, MO to Derrell and Agnes McLees and was a lifelong resident of Independence, MO. He graduated from William Chrisman High School and continued learning through correspondence courses and local community colleges deep into his retirement from and ammunition plant. He enjoyed visiting nature preserves and considered himself an arborist for many years. He was preceded in death by both his first of 40 years, Reita and his second wife, Patricia. He is survived by his children, and step-children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Derrell enjoyed the achievements of his children and grandchildren and always looked to a bright future.
