Theresa Mcmichen

Theresa McMichen, 46, of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 at home. A visitation for Theresa will be held from 9:30- 11:00 a.m., with the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel. Theresa was born on August 31, 1965 in Kansas City, MO. Theresa was a gentle loving soul who was adored by her family and friends. She was a devoted mother and was happiest when surrounded by her greatest treasures- her children and grandchildren. She loved books, scary movies, tennis, and barbeque. Amongst her siblings she was known as "the sweet one". Theresa loved a good laugh and will always be remembered for her unconditional love and loyalty and for her kind, generous spirit." She leaves behind mother, Phyllis Hanes; daughter Casey McMichen and grandchildren Kellyn, John Jr., and Lilian Powell; sons Jonathan and Joseph McMichen; daughter Morgan McMichen; boyfriend William Tinnin; sisters Christina Hanes (Dennis Dufva) and Carolyn Hanes (James Palmer Jr.); brothers William (Kim), James (Tammy), Stephen (Judy) and Phillip Hanes; and best friend Melody LaRoe. Theresa also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Theresa was preceded in death by her father, William R. Hanes; and sister Mary Elizabeth.
