John Daniels McMinn, 82 of Blue Springs, MO passed away, Sunday, January 22, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2017 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th, Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. John was born May 24, 1934 in Buckner, MO to John and Xantha (Daniels) McMinn. He graduated from Buckner High School and has been a lifelong area resident. He worked for the Sheet Metal Workers Local #2 for over 40 years before he retired. He was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include; his loving wife of 55 years, Christa of the home; 2 sons, Kevin McMinn of Torrance, CA and Kirk McMinn of Blue Springs, MO; a brother, Larry McMinn; 3 sisters, Sue Montgomery, Audrey Weis and JoAnn McNaul; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, John, Joseph and Jessica and 2 great grandchildren, Jazmine and Christopher.
