Mildred Mabel (Wallace) McVey, 97, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Rosewood Health Center. Memorial services will be 7:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 6-7:00pm at the church. Cremation with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or the charity of choice. Mildred was born May 20, 1907 in Rooks County, KS to Delbert and Janie (Adamson) Wallace and attended school in Stockton, KS. She was married to Earl V. "Mac� McVey on September 20, 1930. The family lived in Lincoln, NE before moving to St. Joseph, MO in 1942. She was a 40 year member of the First Methodist Church in St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 3, 1987. In 1991 she moved to Independence, MO in the Olde Oak Tree apartments. She joined Christ United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women and the Wesley Sunday School Class. Mrs. McVey is survived by her son Robert Wallace McVey and his wife Betty of Juneau, Alaska, daughter Shila Ann Clark and her husband Harry Clark, Jr. of Independence, MO; two granddaughters LuAnn Steele and Jeanie Sue Macaulay and 3 great-grandchildren, all of Juneau, Alaska.
