James "Jim� A. McWilliams, 72 of Independence passed away, Tue. Mar. 28, 2006 at the Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 1:00 pm, Sat. Apr. 1, 2006 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep. MO. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 1:00 pm on Saturday, immediately preceding the service. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Jim was born on Jul. 18, 1933 to Harold and Elsie (Wilson) McWilliams in Beacon, IA and had lived in the Independence area most of his life. He had been a Foreman at Missouri Portland Cement Company retiring in 1996. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved riding Goldwing Motorcycles and being active in the Goldwing Motorcycle Club in Independence. Jim also loved Bluegrass music and played the guitar with his friends. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men�s Group. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beverly Davis. He is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Mary F. McWilliams of Independence. A son, Jim McWilliams and wife, Debbie of Raytown and a daughter, Sherry Denham and husband, David E. of Arvada, CO. Two brothers, Gene McWilliams of Grand Island, NE and Jerry McWilliams of Louisburg, KS. Two sisters, Judy Auldridge of Berryton, KS and Bonnie Turpen of Overland Park, KS. Four grandchildren, John Vaught, Laurie Gillespie, Zachary Denham and Adam Denham. Three great grandchildren, Nyah Gail Vaught, Naison Douglas Vaught and Hunter Owen Ollie Denham.
