Magdalen "Mickey" Meinhardt

Magdalen “Mickey” Meinhardt, 87, of Independence, MO passed away on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm with a rosary beginning at 5:30pm on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St.: Independence, MO 64055. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, June 4th at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
Mickey was born June 15, 1933 in Joplin, MO to Mark and Hazel (Harrison) Schofield. Mickey was employed for over 30 years in customer service for Sears. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Independence, where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary’s Guild.
Mickey is survived by daughter Dianne Reed and her husband Tim of Lampe, MO and son Donald Ponak of Independence, MO. Two grandchildren, Sarah Williams of Kansas City MO and David Ponak of Longmont CO, as well as, seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband Joe Meinhardt and son Kenny Ponak.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association; 225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl. #17; Chicago, IL 60601.
