James Stewart Menzies, 90, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Rosewood Health Center. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Beacon Heights Congregation of the Community of Christ Church. Private burial in Buckner Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Outreach International. Jim was born July 9, 1916 in North Portal, SK, Canada to William and Florence (Hudd) Menzies. From early childhood, Jim had an active faith, which led him, in 1938 to membership in the Community of Christ (then the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). On July 17, 1943, Jim married Iridell A. Fisher, beginning a partnership that would last until Dell�s passing in 2005. After completing service in the Canadian Army, he entered a successful career in sales and then became an Appointee Minister in the Community of Christ Church in 1945. He served the church in the United States, Canada as well as Great Britain before retiring in 1981. In retirement, Jim and Dell lived in Wichita, KS and then settling in Buckner, MO. Jim leaves behind two sons, James F. Menzies, of Copenhagen, Denmark, with his wife Bente, daughter Sandra and son Casper Frederick, and John K. Menzies, of Livingston, New Jersey, with his wife Elizabeth and daughters Lauren, Alexandra, and Morgan
