Tracy Ann Merit

Tracy Ann Merit, 55 years of age, Independence, MO passed on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospice House.
A visitation will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St. S. Independence, MO on December 21, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm, Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the chapel. Tracy was born August 27, 1961 in Independence, Missouri to Edie and Leroy Merit. Tracy professed her life to Christ at an early age. She was the middle child of three. Tracy was educated in Independence, MO and attended Truman High School.
Tracy has a legacy of being a dedicated and hard worker. She secured many jobs before landing at Bushnell where she has been a valued and dedicated employee for 26 years. Many of her coworkers regard her as a dear friend.
Tracy has one son, Max Merit A1C, the joy and love of her life. After driving an hour home from work from a full 8 hour job every day for the last 19 years, Tracy dedicated her life to provide a warm, loving, and fun filled life for Max.
Tracy enjoyed camping, canoeing, and celebrating holidays and life events with her numerous friends. Tracy has left a legacy of always being willing to help anyone in need with whatever she had to give.
Tracy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Amos and Opha Coombes, and John Dee and Mamie Merit, her father, Leroy Dee Merit and a step brother, Brad Green.
Tracy leaves to cherish her loving memory one son, Max Merit, mother and step-father, Edie and Gary Green, a sister, Angela Newmaster & Greg, a brother, Randy Merit, two nieces Sarah Newmaster and Shanda (Wes) Miller, four nephews Alex Newmaster & (Kirstin), Adam Newmaster, Danny Green & (Kristina), Nicholas Merit, and many other close family and friends.
As she lived her life, Tracy bravely endured a battle with lung cancer and kept her spirts high and fought to the very end. Her presence will be missed by so many. Rest in peace our sweet angel!
