Sue was born in Exeter, Missouri to Jewell Jones Higgs on April 29,1940. Moving to Kansas City at a young age, she later met the love of her life. She married Richard Jones Mershon on August 8, 1970 in Independence, Missouri. Sue helped run Mershon Trucking, Inc. with Richard. In addition, everyone knew she ran the house and family. It was obvious every Friday and most Saturday nights, she would be cooking up a full meal and feeding their company’s drivers and other friends that would stop by. Always gathered around the breakfast table and in the kitchen, there was never a shortage of friends and family surrounding Sue. Always looked at as another “mom” to all of the girls’ friends through the years. She was involved in the lives of her three daughters, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching their school activities, sports and social events. Sue with her husband Richard loved the Chiefs, Royals, Mizzou Tigers and NASCAR.
Sue is survived by Daughters Kimberly Platz and her husband Alan, Renee Austin and her husband Jason and Aimee DeVries and her husband Pete. Grandchildren, Dustin (Heather), Kortnei (Sean), Brittnei (Pat), Taylor (Josh), Camryn, Gracyn, Alexis (Dakotah), Katelin and Liam. Great Grandchildren, Dustin, Nevaeh, Deshawn, Aiden, Mason, Brynlei, Harper, Declan and Kaysen. Brothers Gale (Connie) and John (Billie).
