Jane Miles-Smith, 66, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of the Clinton and Warsaw area, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 in the comfort of her home. Born May 16, 1954 in Clinton, MO, Jane spent her early life growing up between Warsaw, MO, Chevy Chase, MD, Atchison, KS and Clinton, MO. She graduated from Clinton Sr. High School in 1972 and went on to earn a degree in Commercial Art in 1976 from The University of Kansas. Those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with Jane, always expected to laugh from her witty humor and would undoubtedly feel her compassion as she always put others first. That same wit and compassion, combined with her love of art and design, sent her on a 24-year journey with a career as a designer for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. Jane always took pride in knowing that her art would be shared for all types of celebrations and her family are confident Jane’s art will live on and continue to bring smiles to those who receive them. She is survived by; her husband m. July 4, 1980, Paul Smith; a daughter, Ariel Smith and a son, Neill Smith. Cremation is planned with a memorial gathering to be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday evening, May 13, 2021 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055.
