Brendan C. Miley, 74, Independence, MO passed away August 24, 2021. A visitation will be held from 1-2pm, Tuesday, August 31st with a service following at 2pm, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St; Independence, MO 64055. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence.
Brendan was born December 12, 1946 in Modesto, CA, the son of Earl and Iris (Steele) Miley. He attended school in Ukiah, CA. Brendan moved to Missouri in 1970 and his love of children led him to his work at Truman Neurological Center where he met and later married the love of his life, Linda Smith.
In 1981, Brendan began working as a tool setter for Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. He worked at Lake City for 30 years, retiring in 2011. Brendan and Linda have three sons, David Terrill, Jonathan Charles, and Joshua Hollis. Brendan was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Independence, MO.
Brendan was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Sean Miley, and sister, Anne Miley.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Miley; sons David Miley and wife Cody, Olathe, KS; Jonathan Miley and wife Crystal, Grain Valley, MO; and Joshua Miley, Hannibal, MO; grandsons, Ian, Noah, Carter, and Orion Miley; bothers Kevin Miley, Sparks, NY, Paul Miley, Seattle, WA, Terry Miley, Andersen, CA, and Damian Miley, Crawfordville, FL; mother-in-law, Lola Smith and brother-in-law, Gene Smith.
