Freeman Miller, 82, Independence, Mo. died Nov. 21, 2004 at Independence Manor Care Center. Funeral services will be 2 pm, Wed., Nov. 24, 2004 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Wasola, Mo. with a visitation held one hour prior to the funeral; interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Wasola. A visitation will be held 6 - 8 pm, Monday, Nov. 22 at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Mo. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer�s Assoc. or Crossroads Hospice. Freeman was born Nov. 23, 1921 in Wasola, Mo. and was an Army veteran of WW II. He earned a Masters of Education Administration from CMSU and taught in the Independence School District for 13 years before serving the Waynesville-Ft. Leonard Wood School District as an elementary school principal for 13 years until his retirement in 1983. Freeman was a Mason and a Past Lt. Governor of the Missouri-Arkansas District for Kiwanis. He served the First Baptist Church of Waynesville as a Deacon and was a member of the Susquehanna Baptist Church in Independence. He was preceded in death by daughter Emily Yvonne Terry in 2002, brother Cecil Miller, and sisters Helen Davis and Dortha Watson. Freeman is survived by his wife of 59 years Emily J. Miller, of the home; son Thomas R. Miller and wife Patricia, Indep., Mo; son Burney A. Miller and wife Nancy, Odessa, Mo.; son-in-law Bobby J. Terry, Blue Springs, Mo; grandchildren Josh, Danielle, Adrianne, Jeff, and Cory; great-granddaughter Hayden Emily; brothers Clarence Miller, Monroe, Wa.; Albert Miller, Desoto, Ks; Robert A. Miller, Bashor, Ks; and sister Amy Sherrill, K.C., Mo.
