Shirley Millet

Shirley Millet, 79, Excelsior Springs, MO passed away Saturday, November 17, 2007 at KU Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 9-10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 21 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep., with services beginning at 10:30 AM; burial at Mount Washington Cemetery.
Shirley was born December 9, 1927 to Raymond and Mayme Hughes. She was a loving, caring, and wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed talking on the telephone, laughing, and spending time shopping. She was also a member of Pisgah Baptist Church. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Earl S. Millet; mother, Mayme Wood; step-father, Robert Wood; sisters, Leona Howard and Helen Hughes; and uncle, Daniel Beebe. She is survived by two sons: David Millet and wife Kay, and Ron Millet, all of Excelsior Springs, MO; daughter, Patsy Millet of New Orleans, LA; two half-sisters, Carole Blackmore and Frankie Rigg; four grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Shirley will be missed by all who loved her.
