Gary Million, 59, Kansas City, MO passed away unexpectedly Dec. 20, 2012. Funeral services will be 3 pm, Friday, Dec. 28 at the Fillmore Chapel at Unity Village, 1901 N.W. Blue Pkwy, Unity Village, MO 64065. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence MO 64055. Services will take place in Cincinnati, OH followed by interment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville, IN. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the American Heart Assoc., 6800 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, KS 66212 or Disabled American Veterans, 6314 N. Oak , Kansas City, MO 64118. Gary was born Dec. 25, 1952 in Cincinnati, OH. He was the Deputy Network Director of the VA Heartland Network and dedicated the last twenty-eight years of his life to the care of veterans. After undergraduate education at the University of Cincinnati, he earned Masters degrees in Education from Ohio University; Environmental Health from East Tennessee State University and Public Administration from UMKC. He was a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, a Life Member of the NRA and a member of the Sierra Club. He enjoyed reading about American history, music and spending time with his sons.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Rutheford Million and sister Lois Banks. He is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years Beth Million, of the home; son Matt Million, Seattle, WA; Marcus Million, of the home; mother Eva Million, Cincinnati, OH; sister Wilma McMullian, Hamilton, OH; mother-in-law Lou Anne Painter, Cincinnati, OH; brothers-in-law Henry Banks, Brookville, IN; Bill Painter and wife Kathy, Ft. Thomas, KY; Pat Painter, Burlington, KY and many other family members.
