James C. "Bill� Minks, 70, of Kansas City, MO, passed away, Monday, January 17, 2005 at the North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the Carson-Speaks Funeral Home, 1501 W. Lexington Independence, MO. Visitation will follow services. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2005 in the Freeman-Holsapple Cemetery in Collins, MO. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association. Bill was born January 23, 1934 in Oyer, MO. He worked as a truck driver for Lee Way Motor Freight for 30 years until he retired in 1988. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #41. He was married to Martha Lewis on October 20, 1952, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 sons, Hank Minks and his wife Kathy of Independence, MO, Dick Minks and his wife Vicky of Lake Lotawana, MO and Cliff Minks and his wife Lee Ann of Kansas City, MO; 4 daughters, Reeda Thompson and her husband Lloyd of Hardin, KY, Susan Minks of North Kansas City, MO, Penney Clark and her husband Steve of Kansas City, MO and Nancy Atkinson of Kansas City, MO; 2 brothers, Don Minks of Drexel, MO and Mike Minks of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Monas Farris and Patty Minks both of Independence, MO; 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Bonnie Minks and June Lasswell and a brother, Jerry Minks.
