Victor Lee "Vic" Minnis

Victor Lee Minnis, 71, of Belton, MO passed away Sat., April 23, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Committal services with Full Military Honors will be at 2 pm, Thursday, April 28 at Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will be 7-8:30 pm, Wed. at Speaks Suburban Chapel. 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Vic was born July 12, 1944 in Nevada, MO to Sarah Jane (Beaver) and Roy Junior Minnis. He married Rose Ann Koehler July 16, 1966 in Kearney, MO. He worked as an assembler at the GM Leeds Plant and then at Delphi Battery in Olathe, KS until he retired in 1997. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Vic was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Henry Bailey, brother Kenneth G. Minnis, half-sister Pamela Cerecedes and step-brother Joe Bailey. He is survived by his wife Rose Ann Minnis; daughter Tonya Leigh Olinde and husband Kelly; son Timothy Dale Minnis and wife Tammy; grandchildren Dorian Famuliner and wife Gina, Derik and Dillon Olinde, Shelby & Coby Minnis and Kayla and Markus Stone; half-sister Sandy Deich; half-brother Dennis M. Minnis, several nieces, nephews and other family members.
