Charles H. Mitchell

Charles Harold Mitchell, 82 of Oak Grove, MO died Friday March 30, 2007 a the Oak Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services with full military honors will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel prior to the services. Charles was born October 5, 1924 in Independence, Mo to George P. and Nellie (Welch) Mitchell and has been a lifelong area resident. He had worked as a maintenance worker at Vendo�s Manufacturing Company and the Lipton Tea Company. He was a 1943 graduated of William Chrisman High School before joining the Army in June of that year. His military service took him to the European Theatre and he fought in the Battle of the Buldge. He served in the Army until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a member of the McDonald Masonic Lodge #324 and the Independence Police Auxiliary. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
