Lois Mitchell, 66, of Independence, MO passed away on July 20, 2018. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W Lexington Ave, Indep., Mo 64052. Funeral service will be 10 am Thursday at the chapel. Burial will take place in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Lois was born on December 21, 1951 in Independence, MO to John Paul and Carrie Jewell (NcNeely) Wollenberg, however she was raised by her aunt and uncle William and Ruby McNeely. She was a graduate of William Chrisman High School class of 1969. Nearly 50 years ago she married the love of her life, Archie Mitchell. For nearly 20 years she along with her husband operated “Uncle Stumpy’s Stump Bee Gone & Tree Service”. She was the office manager until her health forced her to retire. Lois enjoyed going to the gambling boats, painting, drawing, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed listening to all different kinds of music from old country to classic rock, and always ready with a good dirty joke! Survivors include; husband Archie Mitchell; son Michael Wayne Mitchell; daughter Carrie Renea Mitchell; daughter Kacee Lenea Mitchell; granddaughter Katelyn Rose Vansel and brother, Clem Wollenberg of Independence, MO., brother Gary Wollenberg of Springfield MO., and a large extended family and many friends.
