Elmer Moffett

Elmer “David” Moffett, 77, of Independence, MO passed away on Sat.,, Nov. 3, 2012. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Wed., Nov. 7 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO 64052; interment with Full Military Honors at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the chapel.
David was born Jan. 18, 1935 in Kansas City, MO. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a truck driver for several different lines over his career before retiring in 2000. He was a member of Local #41 of the Teamsters and had been active in Boy Scouts in years past. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
David was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Lifie (Fairchild) Moffett, three brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Ethel Moffett, of the home; son Scott Moffett and wife Christie, Sugar Creek, MO; daughter Shelly Braden and husband Craig, Independence, MO; sister Bertha Hasler, Topeka, KS; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
