Russell S. Monaco, Sr, 74, of Independence, MO, died Feb. 25, 2004 at Liberty Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am, Monday, March 1, 2004 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm, Sunday with the Rosary being said at 7:30 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Russell was born Oct. 31, 1929 in New Orleans, LA. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the church. He worked as a shift engineer for the Indep. Power & Light Company for 20 years and later in the same capacity at University Hospital and Research Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Monaco, of the home; daughter, Jacquelyn Duvall (Ron), K.C., MO; son, Russell S. Monaco, Jr. (Desiree), Blue Springs, MO; son, Gerald J. Monaco (Victoria), Indep., MO; daughter, Patricia A. Monaco, K.C., MO; brother, Dominick Monaco, Indep. MO; sister, Josephine McReynolds, Indep., MO; Alice Williams, Liberty, MO; grandchildren Nicole A Taylor, Jeremy Russell Monaco, Joseph Monaco, Danielle Monaco, and great-grandchildren, Kayondez Avalo and Kayona Avalo.
