Lyle Berten Moneymaker Jr.

February 12, 1935 — November 23, 2014

Lyle B. Moneymaker, Jr. 79, Blue Springs, MO passed away Nov. 23, 2014. Memorial service at 11 am, Sat., Nov. 29 at Good Shepherd Community of Christ, 4341 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation will begin at 10:30 before the service. The family requests contributions to the church.
He was born in Jackson County
Feb 12, 1935. Lyle was Blessed, baptized, confirmed, ordained at age 14, married at 21 to Nancy Joan Holmes. All at Central Church KCMO RLDS Church. He attended Central High School and graduated 1953. He then attended Graceland College and received his Associate in Arts Degree in 1955. He and his wife were cheerleaders at Graceland. He attended Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg Mo. where received his Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Art and minor in Speech in 1957. He attended Syracuse University in the summer of 1970 and received additional credits towards a Masters in Marketing. Lyle taught Art at Raytown Junior High School, and marketing at night school for Park University for 18 years. He worked at Farmland Industries as a Commercial Artist before,becoming Advertising and Public Relations Manager at the RLDS Publishing House. He was also Director of Promotions and College Market at Kansas City Life Insurance,VP of Marketing at St Paul Title, President of Advertising Agency in Troy Michigan, Commissioner of Electronic Media and Public Relations of RLDS Church, President of Beltone Hearing Aid Centers and Co-owner with Ronald Toles, Marketing Director of American Trade Exchange and Sales for Official and Affiliated Auctioneers. He published baseball cartoon book for children in 2003and published children’s stories for church publication. As an artist, he won over 13 KCMO School District awards. He was a contributing Illustrator for the Saints Herald and won awards for layout and design at Herald House and Kansas City Life. He was a watercolorist and cartoonist for over 50 years. He was and ordained minister for over 60 years and was given the World Church award for Youth Ministries in 1968. He was Chaplin of Kansas City Junior Chamber of Commerce and Editor of the Chamber's newsletter. He served as a member of the RLDS Detroit International Stake High Council, was a Charter member of the Independence Optimist Club, Charter member of the Boy's and Girl's Club in Troy, Michigan, and member of the Independence and KCMO YMCA Board of Directors.
Lyle was preceded in death by daughter Laura Ellen Moneymaker Placeres on Nov 10, 2013.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Joan Moneymaker; daughters Lisa Brummett; Janet Sue Toles;
daughter in law Annette Moritz;
son-in-law Andy Placeres;
brother Robert Moneymaker;
grandsons Andrew Farinella;
Aaron Farinella; Brennan Toles;
Angelo Farinella; Trey Brummett;
Nic Placeres; Aaron Moritz;
Granddaughters Alexandra Toles; Courtney Brummett; Angela Moritz
Ashley Moritz; Liam Farinella; great-grandson and great- granddaughter
Leah Moritz.
