Kent Monical, 55, of Independence, MO was called home by his heavenly Father on July 4, 2017. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Sycamore Hills Baptist Church in Independence. Kent will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL. Contributions may be made to Sycamore Hills Baptist Church. Kent was born November 9, 1961 in Downers Grove, IL. He grew up in Granite City, IL, and graduated from Granite City North High School in 1979. He later completed school at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, where he specialized in Water Treatment. He was currently employed by CH2M, where he was a Pre Industrial Waste Water Treatment Operator. He was a member of Sycamore Hills Baptist Church, and served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He studied his Bible regularly and took many Bible study classes at church. Kent loved entering his beagles in competitions, including AKC and UBGF, and was very proud of their awards. He is survived by his wife, Carol J. (Choat) Monical; brother and sister, Blake Monical and Laura (Rick) Megard; mother-in-law, Clara J. Choat; sister-in-laws, Renee Choat and Katie Taylor; brother-in-laws, Mike Choat and Rick Megard; nephews, Kyle (Terry) Tepfer, Sean Choat, Jake (Heather) Taylor, Luke (Ena) Taylor, Jessica (Beau) Nunes and Christopher Megard; beloved pets, Charlee Anna, Billy, Boogie, Cowgirl Annie, Willy Joe, Lilly Ann and Bell Bell; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and many friends. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, William and Georgetta (Hayes) Monical; niece, Alicia Tepfer; great nephew, Wyatt Donovan Brown; father-in-law, Joseph W.
