Bert Monson, 81, well known as “Better See Bert”, of Independence, MO passed away January 11, 2016 from COPD and heart trouble. Visitation, Sunday, January 17, 2-4:00 p.m., at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m., at the Suburban Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Chilhowee City Cemetery. Bert worked his way up from a farm life to salesman at a young age, to motorcycle racing and becoming an owner/salesman of Nichols Honda-Triumph in Topeka, KS in the 60’s. After that, Bert went on to become a top notch salesman for Frank Ancona Honda, and later CEO at Affiliated Acceptance Corporation, retiring in 1999. Restless as he was, he started auctioneering for the next 3 years, finally retiring and enjoying life. Bert and his wife of 30 years, Linda, have resided in Independence, MO for 25 years. His mother Bessie and father Albert preceded him in death. Bert is survived by his two sons, Albert “Bert” Monson, overseas, and Bart Monson and wife Rebecca, Jackson, WY; two adopted daughters, Diana and Perla Terrones of Independence, MO; two brothers, Richard Monson and wife Joyce of Warrensburg, MO and Terry Monson and wife Linette of Topeka, KS; many nieces and nephews; and his loving cat, Ginger AKA “Mister”.
