Those who knew Michelle Montaleone know that she was one of a kind. She had such an amazing happy spirit and a smile to go with it. Her laugh would make your day and we sure loved to laugh! Michelle was the kindest, most generous, and selfless person I ever knew. She was always so considerate and would go the extra mile to be kind to others. Every day, she amazed me with her strength and how she ran our entire family, worked full time and would never complain. She would do it with that great smile and we always knew she did it out of love. Love that was an incredible love! I'll be forever grateful for Michelle and her loving heart and what she has taught me over the years that has made me a better man. She was my pillar of strength and support through everything. She was always the one who had all the answers and made any problem seem small in the scheme of things and who could turn the worst day into the funnest day. She became an amazing mother to our son Tony, always patient, always listening, always watching, never skipping a beat. Family was everything and she always made sure she maintained a strong, close relationship with her parents, whom she loved very much.
Michelle was very close to God and she was very well prepared for her departure from this world. The months before she departed, she had read the entire Bible and was on her way to completing it again. She prayed everyday, and was genuinely dedicated to walking God’s path. Her faith in God prepared her for her horrible battle with covid and gave her strength, bravery, and peace until the Lord decided to bring her home. Michelle's last words to me was that she was not afraid and there was nothing to worry about. A huge testimony of what an incredible woman of God she was. She's in God's loving arms now, and I'll tell you, heaven is so lucky to have her.
Michelle loved her cats! She had a huge place in her heart for all living things, but especially cats. She treated her 3 cats like baby’s and were spoiled beyond belief. She was also known to feed the strays in our neighborhood. One of these strays, named “black kitty”, had been coming around for 10 years. Obviously, Michelle’s house was one of his favorite stops. Michelle would stop everything she was doing to hang out with black kitty on the porch and make him feel loved.
I remember Michelle saying “Every day is a good day because everyday is Michelle Day!” (Day being her maiden name). She used to say it with such wit and it was so adorable. You couldn’t help yourself from laughing no matter how many times you heard it. That little moto she used to say has been ringing in my ears recently and I’ve realized that those are great words to live by. I loved spending my days with her. Michelle will live in my heart and I will miss her forever.
