James Raymond Montgomery, 71, of Independence, MO passed away Monday October 20, 2003 at his home. Visitation will be 1-2:00 pm Friday, October 24,2003 at George C. Carson and Sons Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2:00 pm at the chapel. Graveside services and burial will be Monday, October 27, 2003 at 2:00 pm in Shiloh Cemetery, Pigeon Forge, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Shriner�s Burn Hospital fund. Monty was born October 31, 1931 in Middletown, OH to James and Alberta (Botner) Montgomery.Mr. Montgomery retired from the Navy after 25 years of service. He most recently worked for Stone Container as a truck driver. Monty loved golfing and was a member of the "Sand Blasters� golf club through the local Ararat Shrine. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 21. In his spare time he enjoyed watching baseball and football on TV. Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife Bea (Fehrman) of the home, son James Montgomery; daughter Donna Montgomery Martinsen, of Greenwood, SC; grandson David Montgomery of Tahlequah, OK; sister Joyce Blitch (Jim) of Arcadia, FL; nephew James Blitch and niece, Jackie Megna (Victor). He is also survived by 3 step children James Henry, Sharon Siron, Jon Henry; 5 step grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren.
