Emma Moore

Emma Viola Moore, 87, of Belton, MO, passed away, Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Beautiful Savior Nursing Center in Belton, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the chapel. Donations may be to the El-Bethel Baptist Church 709 Herschel, Belton, MO 62012. Emma was born August 11, 1920 in Advance, MO to William and Ona (Walker) Surlett. She had worked in the maintenance department for the Kansas City Star for a number of years and had also been a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed walking and spending time with children especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the El-Bethel Baptist Church in Belton, MO. She was married to Rastus Oral Moore in September 10, 1938; he passed away on October 4, 2006. Survivors include; 2 sons, Bobbie Moore and his wife Beverly of Independence, MO and Charles Moore and his wife Donna of Belton, MO; a daughter, Darlene Richardson and her husband Roy of Kearney, MO; a sister, Winnis Richardson of Corning, AR; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Wayne Moore on February 22, 1972.
