Gale Jay Moore, 74, passed away on Feb. 23, 2017.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 5-8pm, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, at 3:00pm, at the chapel.

Gale was born on Jan. 8, 1943, in Kansas City, MO, to George Moore and Ida Mae (Evans) Moore. He graduated from Van Horn High School in the class of 1961. He married Carolyn Sue Hoskins, and to this union were born two sons. He was a life-long member of I.B.E.W Local #124 and retired from there after 45 years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the Independence Bass Club. He was social, fun-loving, and charitable to others, and an avid fisherman, and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Gale is survived by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Carolyn, of the home; son, Mark Moore (partner, Bryant Hunter), also of the home; brothers, Mike Moore (wife, Carolyn), of Wheatland, MO and Dale Moore of Independence, MO; and many extended family members and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Alan Moore; parents, George and Ida; and brother, John.
