Kenneth Henry Moore, 78 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday morning, February 12, 2011 at his residence. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street South, Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. Kenneth was born June 30, 1932 in Raytown, MO to James Henry and Virginia (Waters) Moore and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Lee’s Summit High School in 1951. He had worked as a plumber for over 33 years before he retired in 1993 and had been a 55-year member of the Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 8 Union in Kansas City, MO. He was also a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Independence, MO. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as spending time with his family. He was married to Coralie Kessler on July 20, 1952; she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 daughters, Kathy Patton and husband David and Deborah Herman all of Independence, MO; 2 sons, Russell Moore and wife Vicki of Kansas City, MO and Kenneth W. Moore and wife Kari of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Helen Harrison of Kansas City, MO and Marilyn Brown of Grain Valley, MO; a brother, Gary Moore of Kansas City, MO; 8 grandchildren, Christine, Melissa, Jessie, Bradley, Andrew, Keith, Cole and Ethan and a great granddaughter, Lydia. A brother, Bob Moore and a sister, Carolyn Dupont, preceded him in death.
