Ronald T. “Tim” Moore, 81 of Blue Springs, MO, a proud Vietnam Veteran who loved his family and country dearly passed away on July 16, 2021. Tim was a devout Catholic his whole life. Tim was born on March 8, 1940 in Independence, MO, to Hubert and Dorothy Moore. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1957. He joined the Air Force, where he proudly served for thirty years and retired as a CMSGT. On August 26, 1967, Tim married Jerilyn “Jeri” Hayne in Terre Haute, IN, and they were married for 54 years. Tim earned his bachelor's degree from Park University in 1989. He went on to serve as Chief of Police for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 20 years in the Kansas City area. Tim was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, and a Mizzou Tiger fan. Tim coached youth football and baseball, where he inspired many youngsters for over 40 years. He was also the coach of the USAF Women's Slow Pitch softball teams where he fostered lifelong friendships. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, and he will be sorely missed. Tim is survived by the love of his life Jeri, sons, Micheal (Teresa), Ronald Jr. (Lisa), and Jeremy (Natasha); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; three sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, from 5:30-8:00 p.m., with the Rosary at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 22, at 10:00 a.m., at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, 805 NW R D Mize Rd., Blue Springs, MO 64015. Tim will be laid to rest at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. The family would like to extend an invitation to gather for a meal at St. John LaLande Parish Center after burial.
