Viola M. Moran
Viola M. Moran, 92, died August 22, 2006 at the Monterey Park Nursing Center after a short stay. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Interment will follow in Lee�s Summit Historical Cemetery. Viola was born in Jackson County, Missouri on July 10, 1914 the daughter of Elmer and Vergie Mae (Dalton) Browning. Her mother died while she was young and she and her brother were raised by their aunts. She married Martin Moran in Independence, Mo. on April 27, 1934. They farmed and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and being with her sons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin on April 9, 1996, a daughter Carol Jeannine Doughty on November 21, 2004 and by her brother Lawrence Edward Browning who died in World War II. Viola is survived by her two sons, James Martin Moran and wife Doris of Blue Springs, Mo., and Edward Lee Moran of Lee�s Summit, Mo., a son-in-law, James Doughty of Holden, Mo. and four grandchildren; Martin (James) Doughty and wife Ali of Centerview, Mo., Jeannine Doughty of Tulsa, Ok., Sheila Meyer and husband Russ of Grain Valley, Mo. and Jim Hilderbrand of Blue Springs, Mo.
